VA FAQs

Thinking about joining? Here's the truth.

Everything you need to know about joining the Turn Key Ops VA team. Pay, schedule, onboarding, and how to apply.

What is Turn Key Ops?

Turn Key Ops is a Virtual Assistant staffing company. We hire superstar VAs and place them in projects with our clients. We oversee their performance on an ongoing basis and ensure our VAs always have a project to work on (and get paid from).

Who are your typical clients?

We work for a few different industries, but a majority of our clients are law firms. We have a lot of experience working in the legal industry, so we make it easy for our VAs to learn key law firm tasks and succeed for our clients.

Where is Turn Key Ops located?

We are based in the United States, Pennsylvania to be more precise, but we have team members around the world. Predominantly in the Philippines and Central/South America.

What is the starting pay rate?

You will find out your pay rate in your interview.

Do you offer any bonuses or other incentives?

Yes. We offer three exciting bonuses, and might even add more in the future. The first is a referral bonus. If you refer us to a candidate that we end up hiring, we will pay you up to $0.50 for every hour that they work for one of our clients. The second is an attendance bonus. If you show up to work and are on-time every day for a given month, we will give you a $30 bonus at the end of that month. Finally, we have an Above and Beyond bonus. If you are a top performer based on client and supervisor feedback, you could earn the prestigious Above and Beyond bonus.

How do you pay your VAs?

Right now, we use a company called Deel to pay our VAs. Deel also helps us manage compliance with our VAs and their local governments. When you get onboarded with us, you will sign a contract through Deel that outlines your contractor employment with us.

How often will I get paid?

We pay our VAs every week, but also offer every other week and monthly options if that is preferred.

What does the application process entail?

If you apply to our company, you will be prompted to fill out a questionnaire so we can learn more about you. A key piece of the questionnaire is uploading a short audio/video recording of yourself. If we are impressed by your application, we will reach out to schedule an interview.

What is the typical schedule for a VA?

Most of our clients are looking for support during US business hours. Usually 9am–5pm Eastern Time. However, some clients are looking for overnight or weekend support as well, so the available work schedule could be flexible.

How do I track my time for the company?

We use a company called Time Doctor for time tracking. You will get an account once you join, and Time Doctor will allow you to track your time and then submit it for payment through Deel.

Am I allowed to work from home?

Absolutely. All of our positions are tailored to working from home, as long as you have a stable internet connection and a working computer.

How many hours do most VAs work?

Most VAs work full-time (40 hours). Depending on the role, part-time positions could be a possibility, but they are less common than full-time positions. If you are willing, some clients also allow you to work slightly over 40 hours if needed.

What types of tasks might I be doing if I get hired?

There are a number of possible tasks you could end up doing. These include but are not limited to: medical record/bill retrieval, phone call intakes with clients, general admin tasks and data mining, reception, meeting scheduling, mail sorting, and video editing / marketing support. And many more.

What if I don’t have experience working with a law firm?

That is 100% fine. Most of our VAs start with no legal experience. We will help train you before you start with a law firm, and then the law firm will further train you on their process and specific tasks.
